StitchCraft Quilt Factory

If you would like to rent our longarm to finish your own quilt, head over to "Classes" and you'll find the rental link. You'll find the available dates and can purchase the day's reservation there. No worries if you have never used a longarm before. We are always there to assist if a thread breaks, the bobbin runs out, or if you need an idea or demonstration. Also, if you bring your quilt top and backing in at least 24 hours prior to your rental slot, we can load your quilt for you. You can use your own batting, or purchase ours.

If you would like us to quilt your quilt FOR you, please make sure your quilt is constructed in a way that it lays as flat as possible. The old adage "it will quilt out" is only true with MINOR issues, and major issues will require reconstruction. Your backing should be at least 3" all around (preferably 4") in order to be loaded on the longarm properly. Do NOT baste your quilt. You can bring your own batting or tell us what kind of batting you prefer (poly, cotton, wool, etc) and we can accommodate it, as we stock all kinds of batting.

We do not charge bobbin fees, thread fees, setup fees, or any kind of price gouging. We believe in fair pricing for the quality of work we provide and stand by everything we do.

Edge to edge quilting runs 2.5 to 3 cents per square inch (plus batting), depending on the size of the quilt and the density of the pattern. We like to let the quilt tell us what kind of pattern it wants based on what your expectations are. A few clients like to choose a pattern and if that's you, please utilize Urban Elementz and look for a pattern and we can use it. It can be overwhelming, so it's perfectly fine to trust us to choose for you. We are VERY good at it. Every quilt knows what it wants, and we know how to listen to it.

If you prefer custom quilting (for an heirloom quilt or a show quilt or just because you dig the fancy things in life), Asher is an award winning quilt artist and has a lot of experience with custom quilting. This runs 7 cents a square inch (plus batting), generally. The only exception to this are Dear Jane quilts, which are quite complex and time consuming. A Dear Jane quilt is a flat rate of $1500 plus batting.

No deposit is necessary to secure your spot. Simply bring in your quilt top and backing, as well as batting if we are to use yours (in person or ship to StitchCraft Quilt Factory, 4511 E Superior St, Duluth, MN 55804).
If you are shipping your quilt, please email us at stitchcraftquiltfactory@gmail.com to let us know it is coming, and tracking information is appreciated.
